This study examined the effectiveness of guidance and counselling services in managing students' disruptive behaviours in selected Senior High Schools in Sunyani Municipality.. Using a descriptive research survey and simple random sampling to address four specific objectives: determining factors of disruptive behaviour problems experienced in Senior High Schools, the scope of guidance and counselling services offered in the selected schools, assessing teachers and students' perception of guidance and counselling, and establishing the effectiveness of guidance and counselling in managing disruptive behaviours. The following are the major findings: disruptive behaviours such as lateness, sneaking from school, boys/girls relationships, absenteeism, theft cases, and drug taking were found to be prevalent. Scope of services provided included personal and psychological counselling, as well as educational guidance. Teachers generally had a positive perception of guidance and counselling services as effective tools for maintaining discipline. Students had mixed opinions, with slight disagreement regarding seeking counselling voluntarily and recommending it to peers. Nonetheless, they acknowledged its effectiveness. The study concluded that guidance and counselling services had a positive impact on managing disruptive behaviours and recommended that the Ministry of Education and the Ghana Education Service sensitize parents about their roles in addressing disruptive behaviours. School administration need to foster cooperation among students, teachers, and staff members and encourage prompt reporting of incidents. Further studies were suggested to explore the subject further through qualitative study with key stakeholders.
